G. Thomas Hough
USGA Executive Committee
G. Thomas Hough, of Atlanta, Ga., is in his fourth year as a member of the USGA Executive Committee.
Hough is Retired Americas Vice Chair of Assurance Services at Ernst & Young LLP. He has served as regional managing partner in the Pittsburgh and Atlanta offices and vice chair of human resources based in New York. Hough retired in 2014 after being a member of Ernst & Young’s Americas Executive Board for 17 years. He currently serves as a director of Equifax Inc. and Publix Supermarkets Inc., and as a trustee of The Federated Investors Family of Funds.
Hough has served as co-general chairman of the U.S. Amateur Championship and the PGA Championship. Additionally, he has served numerous civic organizations including the Rotary Club, and is a past board member of the Metro Atlanta Chamber of Commerce and a past trustee of the Woodruff Arts Center.
Hough earned his bachelor’s degree (summa cum laude, 1977) and master’s degree (with honors, 1978) in Accounting from the University of Alabama, where he was a member of the varsity golf team. He is a current member of the university’s President’s Cabinet, and also serves on the business school board of visitors of Wake Forest University and the University of Alabama.
In 2017, Hough will chair the Audit, International Team Selection and Senior Amateur Committees and will also serve on the Championship, Compensation and Finance Committees.
