A native of Phoenix, Ariz., and a former standout at Arizona State University, Perez has posted three PGA Tour victories since turning professional in 1997, the latest coming in the 2017 CIMB Classic in Malaysia. His other two victories are the 2016 OHL Classic at Mayakoba in Mexico and 2009 Bob Hope Classic (now CareerBuilder Challenge). When he won the OHL Classic, Perez became the first player since Harrison Frazar in 2011 to win while on a medical exemption. Perez spent most of the 2015-16 season on the sidelines after undergoing shoulder surgery.
