A native of Phoenix, Ariz., and a former standout at Arizona State University, Perez has posted two PGA Tour victories since turning professional in 1997, the latest coming in the 2016 OHL Classic at Mayakoba in Mexico. His other victory came in the 2009 Bob Hope Classic (now CareerBuilder Challenge). When he won the OHL Classic, Perez became the first player since Harrison Frazar in 2011 to win while on a medical exemption. Perez spent most of the 2015-16 season on the sidelines after undergoing shoulder surgery. In April, Perez tied for 18th in the Masters, his first major-championship appearance since the 2015 PGA Championship.
