Carded a final-round 62 (10 under) on May 28 to win the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, the European Tour's flagship event. Noren, who began the final round seven strokes back, shattered the West Course record with eight birdies and an eagle to post his ninth victory on the European circuit. Last year, Noren catapulted into the top 10 of the Official World Ranking with three European Tour victories between Sept. 4 and Nov. 13 of 2016. The former Oklahoma State standout won the Omega European Masters, British Masters and Nedbank Golf Challenge. Noren's best finish in a major is a tie for ninth in the 2012 Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St. Annes in England. He represented Sweden in the 2004 World Amateur Team Championship and competed on the European Palmer Cup Teams in 2004 and 2005.
