Earned his first U.S. Open start by garnering the fourth and final spot in the Springfield, Ohio, sectional qualifier, thanks to a 7-under 63 in the afternoon round at Springfield Country Club. Had a 71 in his morning round on the same layout. Won five times at Michigan State, helping the Spartans to three Big Ten Conference titles. Later briefly served as the team's assistant coach. Competed for two seasons on the Canadian Tour (2014 and 2015) before moving to the Web.com Tour last year and winning the season's final event, the WinCo Foods Portland Open, which secured him playing privileges on the PGA Tour in 2017. He's a three-time Michigan Open champion.
