Twenty-four hours after collecting his fifth European Tour victory at the Italian Open, Olesen flew to Surrey, England and qualified for his second U.S. Open. The Dane shot 6-under 138 at Walton Heath Golf Club to garner one of the 14 available spots. Olesen, who missed the cut in his lone U.S. Open start in 2013, tied for sixth in the 2013 Masters and tied for ninth in the 2012 Open Championship conducted by The R&A.
