The Swedish-born Lingmerth will make his third U.S. Open start after shooting 9-under 135 in the Columbus, Ohio, sectional at The Lakes Golf & Country Club and Brookside Golf & Country Club. Broke through for first PGA Tour win at the 2015 Memorial Tournament, defeating 2013 U.S. Open champion Justin Rose in a playoff. Also won the 2012 Neediest Kids Championship on the Web.com Tour. Lingmerth played one season at the University of West Florida before transferring to Arkansas, where he was a two-time All-American. He represented Europe in the 2010 Palmer Cup.
