Qualified for his second U.S. Open from the Memphis, Tenn., sectional, where he posted 8-under 135 at Ridgeway Country Club/Colonial Country Club to earn one of the 11 available berths. Also qualified in Memphis in 2015 when he missed the cut at Chambers Bay. Began the PGA Tour's 2017-18 wrap-around season with a tie for fifth in the Safeway Open in Northern California. Also tied for seventh in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Is a 2012 graduate of Purdue University. His uncle Andrew Johnson won on the Web.com Tour in 2005.
