Earned his first U.S. Open start with a dramatic comeback victory in the 2017 U.S. Amateur championship match at The Riviera Country Club. Down 2 with two holes to play against Doug Ghim, Redman eagled the par-5 35 th hole and then birdied the par-4 18th to force extra holes. Redman then was conceded his birdie on the 37th hole, the par-4 10th at Riviera to win the title. The victory also earned him a spot on the victorious 2017 USA Walker Cup Team, which reclaimed the Cup a few weeks later at The Los Angeles Country Club. The Clemson University sophomore also earned an invitation to the 2018 Masters, where he missed the cut. Redman also was the runner-up in the 2017 Western Amateur and posted two collegiate victories in his freshman campaign at Clemson.
