Qualified for his second U.S. Open by shooting 7-under 137 in the Columbus, Ohio, sectional at The Lakes Golf & Country Club and Brookside Golf & Country Club. Grew up in Avon, Ind., and enjoyed a stellar junior career before moving on to Stanford University, where he won 11 times to tie Tiger Woods' school record. He also won the Ben Hogan Award and was No. 1 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for 16 weeks early in 2014. Represented the USA in the 2011 and 2013 Walker Cup Matches, winning in the latter at The National Golf Links of America, just a stone's throw from Shinnecock Hills. He also was a member of two U.S. Palmer Cup Teams in 2012 and 2013. He turned professional in 2014 and registered his lone victory to date in the 2015 Pacific Rubiales Colombia Championship on the Web.com Tour.
