The native of Thailand will be making his first U.S. Open start, thanks to being among the top 70 in the Official World Golf Ranking as of March 15, 2020. Janewattanond owns 10 victories worldwide, six coming on the Asian Tour and another one on the Japan Golf Tour. His last triumph came in the 2019 Thailand Masters, one of two wins last December. He also won the BNI Indonesian Masters that month. His nickname came as a result of his father's love for jazz music. At 14 years, 71 days, he became the youngest golfer to make a cut on the Asian Tour, which he which he achieved at the 2010 Asian Tour International. Janewattanond took a brief hiatus from the European Tour in 2016 to join the monkhood, which he says helped improve his performance on the golf course. He also tied for 14th in the 2019 PGA Championship, his best finish in three major-championship starts.
