The 2003 Masters champion will make his 14th U.S. Open start, and first since 2013, after shooting 5-under 136 in the Dallas, Texas, sectional conducted at Bent Tree Country Club and The Northwood Club. Weir became the first left-hander to win the Masters, a year before Phil Mickelson claimed the first of three titles. He's amassed 15 professional victories, including eight on the PGA Tour. His last came in the 2007 Fry's Electronics Open. This year, he is playing exclusively on the Web.com Tour. The native of Canada who now resides in Sandy, Utah, owns four top-10 finishes and made 11 cuts in his 13 U.S. Open starts, including a share of third in 2003 at Olympia Fields Country Club. He has made the cut in his two previous U.S. Opens at Pebble Beach, tying for 80th in 2010 and earning a share of 16th in 2000. He opened the 2009 championship at Bethpage State Park with a 6-under 64 before settling for a tie for 10th. He has represented the International side in five Presidents Cups.
