Qualified for his 10th U.S. Open, and first since 2014, by shooting 6-under 138 in the Columbus, Ohio, sectional at The Lakes Golf & Country Club and Brookside Golf & Country Club. He won the 1999 Australian Open as a 19-year-old amateur and then repeated the following year as a professional. His second win earned Baddeley a special exemption into the 2000 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. Owned the 54-hole lead in the 2007 U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club before struggling to a final-round 80. Missed the cut in the 2004 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. Owns four PGA Tour victories, the last coming in the 2016 Barbasol Championship. Was the runner-up to James Oh at 1998 U.S. Junior Amateur at Conway Farms outside of Chicago. He represented Australia in the 1998 and 2000 World Amateur Team Championship and was on the World Team for 2011 Presidents Cup. His father, Ron, was the crew chief for Indy Car driver Mario Andretti.
