F-13: Top 5 players in the 2024 FedExCup standings as of May 20 not otherwise exempt
Pendrith will compete in his fourth U.S. Open thanks to being among the top five players in the 2024 FedExCup standings as of May 20 not otherwise exempt. Pendrith broke through for his first PGA Tour win at the 2024 CJ Cup Byron Nelson, edging Ben Kohles by one stroke. Prior to that win, both of Pendrith's professional victories had come on the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada in 2019. He played his college golf at Kent State with PGA Tour winner and fellow Canadian Corey Conners. When he lost in the Round of 64 at the 2014 U.S. Amateur at the Atlanta Athletic Club, Pendrith picked up Conners' bag and helped him reach the championship match, where he fell to Gunn Yang. Pendrith also was an outstanding baseball player in high school. As an amateur, he won the 2013 Porter Cup and Mid-American Conference Championship, and the 2014 Monroe Invitational.
