Pendrith qualified for his second U.S. Open via final qualifying at Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Md., where he was the medalist at 8-under-par 136. Last year at Winged Foot, he tied for 23rd. Both of Pendrith's professional victories have come on the Mackenzie Tour-PGA Tour Canada in 2019: 1932byBateman Open and Mackenzie Investments Open. He played his college golf at Kent State with PGA Tour winner and fellow Canadian Corey Conners. When he lost in the Round of 64 at the 2014 U.S. Amateur at the Atlanta Athletic Club, Pendrith picked up Conners' bag and helped him reach the championship match, where he fell to Gunn Yang. Pendrith also was an outstanding basetball player in high school. As an amateur, he won the 2013 Porter Cup and Mid-American Conference Championship, and the 2014 Monre Invitational.
