Won the 1997 U.S. Amateur Public Links title, beating current PGA Tour Ryuji Imada in the final at Kearney Hill Golf Links in Lexington, Ky.
Competed for South Africa in 1996 World Amateur Team Championship in the Philippines
Donated first-place check (approximately $20,000) at the 2005 Nelson Mandela Invitational to a deaf girl from the Carol du Toit School for the Hearing Impaired in Tygerberg, South Africa who needed implant surgery
