For the second consecutive year, the former world No. 1 had to enter sectional qualifying and this year he survived a 6-for-5 playoff in Powell, Ohio, to punch his ticket to Oakmont. Shot 5-under 137 at Wedgewood Golf & Country Club and Kinsale Golf & Fitness Club. Won the money title on both the PGA Tour and the European Tour in the same season (2011). Owns 16 professional wins, including five on the PGA Tour. Also won the European Tour's flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth in 2011. Held No. 1 spot on Official World Golf Ranking for 40 weeks between May 2011 and March 2012. As an amateur, Donald was part of the victorious Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup Teams in 1999 and 2001. Was an art major at Northwestern. Represented GB&I on 1998 (won) and 2000 World Amateur Teams. Four-time European Ryder Cup member.
