Holmes returned to the PGA Tour in January 2012. He was a member of the victorious 2005 USA Walker Cup Team and also played on the 2008 U.S. Ryder Cup Team and 2015 U.S. Presidents Cup Team. Holmes is one of the longest hitters in golf; he played on the varsity golf team at Taylor County (Ky.) High while in third grade.
