Ryan Palmer earned will be making his eighth U.S. Open start after earning his place in the field with his second-place finish in the Memorial Tournament. The Amarillo, Texas, native owns four PGA Tour victories, the last coming in the 2019 Zurich Classic of New Orleans with partner Jon Rahm, who took over the No. 1 spot in the Official World Golf Ranking with his victory in the Memorial Tournament. His last individual victory on the PGA Tour was the 2010 Sony Open in Hawaii. Palmer played one season at the University of North Texas before transferring to Texas A&M for his final three seasons. He turned professional in 2000. He bounced around the mini-tours before gaining status on the Nationwide Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour) in 2003. He finished sixth on the money list that year to gain his PGA Tour privileges for the 2004 season. That year, he earned his first PGA Tour victory in the Funai Classic at the Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Fla. Palmer's longtime caddie, James Edmondson, qualified for the inaugural U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championship in 2015 at The Olympic Club.
