Sabbatini will make his 12th U.S. Open start, and first since 2013, after posting 7-under 135 in the Columbus, Ohio, sectional conducted at Brookside Golf & Country Club and Scioto Country Club. Born in South Africa, he now represents Slovakia, the home country of his wife, His wife's cousin is the president of the Slovak Golf Association. Since turning professional in 1998 after playing collegiately at the University of Arizona, Sabbatini has registered six PGA Tour victories, the last coming in the 2011 Honda Classic. But in 2019, Sabbatini has recorded four top-10 finishes in his last six PGA Tour starts. His lone top-10 finish in a major came when he shared runner-up honors in the 2007 Masters. Has missed the cut in the last two U.S. Opens contested at Pebble Beach (2000 and 2010). He represented the International Team in the 2007 Presidents Cup.
