Final Qualifying: Shot 65-68--133 at Emerald Dunes Golf Club, in West Palm Beach, Fla., on June 2
The Wellington, Fla., resident qualified for his seventh U.S. Open, but first since he made the cut at Oakmont Country Club in 2016. Hicks was the co-medalist at Emerald Dunes Golf Club, posting 11-under-par 133. In the 2008 U.S. Open at Torrey Pines, Hicks opened with a 68 to lead the championship after Day 1. Hicks graduated from the University of Michigan and posted 25 professional wins, including two on what is now called the Korn Ferry Tour: the 2008 Ford Wayne Gretzky Classic and the 2010 BMW Charity Pro-Am. He also won 14 times on the Minor League Golf Tour. After retiring from professional golf, he became an instructor at Stonebridge Golf & Country Club in the South Florida PGA Section (Boca Raton). He qualified for the 2025 PGA Championship by tying for ninth in the PGA Professional Championship. Hicks is the oldest qualifier in this year's U.S. Open.
