The South Carolina native won the 2009 U.S. Open at Bethpage Black, joining Michael Campbell (2005), Steve Jones (1996) and Jerry Pate (1976) as recent winners of the U.S. Open who went through final qualifying to win the championship. He will make his 17th U.S. Open start after qualifying for the season-ending Tour Championship while also posting multiple victories between the end of the 2023 U.S. Open and the start of this year's championship. After years of dealing with putting issues, Glover switched to a long putter in 2023 and posted a pair of late-season victories at the Wyndham Championship and FedEx/St. Jude Classic in a playoff over Patrick Cantlay. That helped him reach the Tour Championship at East Lake and gave the ex-Clemson University standout six career PGA Tour victories. Glover was a member of the 2001 USA Walker Cup Team and played on the 2007 and 2009 USA Presidents Cup Teams.
