Pavan will make his second U.S. Open start, but first since 2014, after surviving a 6-for-3 playoff at Walton Heath G.C. for the final spots. He posted a 36-hole total of 7-under 137. The former Texas A&M standout competes on the DP World Tour, but also has played on the European Challenge Tour. He owns eight professioal victories, including two on the DP World Tour: the 2019 BMW International Open and the 2018 D+D Real Czech Masters. His other five wins have come on the European Challenge Tour, the last in 2023. He twice won the Italian Amateur Stroke Play Championship in 2005 and 2007. Pavan represented Italy in the 2008 and 2010 World Amateur Team Championship and the International side in the 2009 and 2010 Palmer Cup.
