F-22: Top 60 points leaders in the Official World Golf Ranking
Pieters will play in his fifth U.S. Open after being among the top 60 in the Official World Golf Ranking on May 22. The Belgian has enjoyed a steady rise since turning professional in 2013 after a stellar three-year career at the University of Illinois, where he won the 2012 NCAA Division I individual title and the 2013 Big Ten Championship. As a professional, he has registered six of his seven worldwide victories on the DP World Tour, the latest coming in the 2022 Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship. He also finished fourth in the first Olympic golf competition in 112 years, which helped him be a captain's selection for the 2016 Ryder Cup Matches at Hazeltine National. Pieters twice represented Belgium in the World Amateur Team Championship (2010 and 2012) and represented the victorious European Team in the 2012 Palmer Cup.
