Bramlett returns to the U.S. Open for a third time, but for the first time at a venue not named Pebble Beach. He missed the cut in both the 2010 and 2019 championships. Bramlett was the medalist at Woodmont Country Club's North Course in Rockville, Md., posting 8-under 136. He is one of a handful of Black golfers competing on either the PGA Tour or Korn Ferry Tour. His lone professional win to date came in the 2021 Korn Ferry Tour Championship. Bramlett attended Stanford University, where he helped the Cardinal win the 2007 NCAA title. While at Stanford, he also won the 2010 Northeast Amateur. Prior to college, he was the runner-up in the 2005 California State Amateur as a 17-year-old. His professional career has been hampered by a pair of wrist injuries, and issues with his lower back.
