Final Qualifying: Shot 65-71--136 at Canoe Brook Country Club (North & South Courses), in Summit, N.J., on June 2

Diaz will make his second U.S. Open start after shooting 6-under 136 at the Canoe Brook Country Club final qualifier. In 2017, Diaz was the first alternate from the Canoe Brook site, and was a last-minute addition to the field when Phil Mickelson withdrew to attend his daughter's high school graduation in California. Diaz just missed the cut at Erin Hills. The Mexican-born golfer who played collegiately at the University of South Carolina-Aiken, owns two professional wins, including the 2021 Chitimacha Louisiana Open on the Korn Ferry Tour. His other win came in the 2014 Central American and Caribbean Games. He has bounced between the PGA Tour, Korn Ferry Tour and PGA Tour Latinoamerica. Diaz represented Mexico in the 2006 and 2008 World Amateur Team Championships.
