The Canadian will make his second U.S. Open start after posting 12-under 130 at the Cherry Hill Club final qualifier in Canada. Svensson earned his first PGA Tour victory at the 2022 RSM Classic. He also has three other professional wins on the Korn Ferry Tour, two coming in 2021: Club Car Championship and Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship. As an amateur he won the 2012 Canadian Boys Junior Championship, and helped Canada to a silver medal in the 2014 World Amateur Team Championship in Japan. Svensson had an outstanding college career at Division II Barry University, winning nine times and helping the school to the NCAA Division II title in 2013 and 2014. He was named the 2013 Phil Mickelson Award winner for being Division II's most outstanding freshman and the Jack Nicklaus Award as the Division II player of the year for the 2013-14 season. He turned professional in 2015.
