Truslow, who turned professional in 2015, will make his second U.S. Open debut after surviving a 2-for-1 playoff with the son of a Ryder Cup stalwart at Emerald Dunes Golf Club, in West Palm Beach, Fla. After posting 10-under 134, Truslow then edged University of Florida standout Luke Poulter, the son of Ian Poulter, for the last spot from the site. He shot a 70 in local qualifying in Tarpon Springs, Fla., to advance. Truslow has played primarily on the Korn Ferry Tour, although he has managed to get into a couple of PGA Tour events. In 2020, he posted three top-5 finishes, including a share of second in the Lincoln Land Championship. presented by LRS. He also tied for 10th in the 2019 Puerto Rico Open on the PGA Tour. Truslow is best known for chipping with one hand. The New Smyrna Beach, Fla., resident did not play for Rollins College, instead choosing to focus on mini-tours to help jumpstart his career in the game.
