F-13: Top 5 players in the 2025 FedExCup standings, not otherwise exempt, as of May 19
The former University of Illinois standout returns to the U.S. Open for a fourth time after being among the top five players in the 2025 FedExCup standings, not otherwise exempt, as of May 19. This past February, Campbell broke through for his first PGA Tour win at the Mexico Open, defeating Aldrich Poltgeiter in a playoff. When he finished as low amateur in the 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay, he received a congratulatory message from Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Brian Campbell (no relation). Campbell, the golfer, attended Mater Dei High School in Anaheim, Calif., a school known for producing elite football and basketball players. His brother, Derek, played baseball for the University of California and was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies. Campbell lost a playoff at the 2024 Astara Golf Championship Presented by MasterCard on the Korn Ferry Tour and tied for third a few weeks later at the 117 Visa Argentina Open. He turned professional in 2015.
