Pereira qualified for his first U.S. Open by successfully navigating local qualifying in West Palm Beach, Fla., and sectional qualifying at the Streamsong (Fla.) Resort. He shot 11-under 135 on the Black Course to garner the third and final spot from the qualifier. Born in Santiago, Chile, Pereira attended Texas Tech University. Has registered three worldwide victories, including the 2016 Roberto De Vicenzo Punta del Este Open Copa NEC on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica. His three other professional wins came in Chile. He has six top-10 finishes this season on the PGA Tour Latinoamerica.
