The 2015 U.S. Junior Amateur champion and former Louisiana State University standout will make his second U.S. Open start, and first since missing the cut in 2018 at Shinnecock Hills. Barbaree shared medalist honors at the West Palm Beach, Fla., final qualifier at 11-under 133. He also survived local qualifying in Kansas. Barbaree, a native of Shreveport, La., rallied to beat Andrew Orischak in 37 holes to win the 2015 U.S. Junior Amateur at Colleton River, in Bluffton, S.C. He turned professional in 2021. He has played six events on the PGA Tour Americas this season, including a tie for third at the Inter Rapidisimo Golf Championship. He has also played in five Korn Ferry Tour events. Worked for his father's Superior Steakhouse "for a couple of days" in 2021. He advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2020 U.S. Amateur at Bandon Dunes.
