Kim will play in his first U.S. Open after posting a 3-under-par total of 139 and then surviving a 7-for-6 playoff for the final spots. The Korean owns three worldwide professional victories, including the 2020 Korean PGA Championship. The following year, he captured the Japan PGA Championship. In 2022, he was voted the Korn Ferry Tour's Rookie of the Year, earning his PGA Tour card for the 2023 season via the Korn Ferry Tour Finals. Kim, in 2021, shot a 58 in the final round of the Golf Gartner Pro-Am Tournament to finish in a tie for 11th. He is coming off his first major-championship start at the PGA Championship, where he tied for 63rd at Valhalla.
