Qualified for his second U.S. Open by shooting 4-under 136 in the Springfield (Ohio) Country Club final qualifier. Enjoyed a stellar career at the University of Illinois, where he tied for foufth in the 2018 NCAA Championships at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla., and captured six college tournaments. In his professional debut, he tied for 20th in the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills. Advanced to the quarterfinals of the 2016 U.S. Amateur, a month after winning the Western Amateur by beating Sam Horsfield in the 18-hole final, 3 and 1. Missed the cut in his PGA Tour debut as an amateur at the 2017 John Deere Classic in Sylvis, Ill. During the 2018-19 wrap-around season, he played in five PGA Tour events, tying for seventh in the Sanderson Farms Championship.
