The Dane earned medalist honors at Bent Tree Country Club, shooting a 36-hole total of 11-under-par 131. Neergaard-Petersen turned professional in 2023 after a successful college career at Oklahoma State, where he posted a pair of collegiate wins and was named an All-American. He has competed since on the European Challenge Tour and DP World Tour. All three of his professional victories came on the Challenge Tour in 2024. This will be3 his first U.S. Open start and second major championship after missing the cut at the PGA Championship in May. Neergaard-Petersen represented Denmark in the 2022 World Amateur Team Championship in France and the victorious International side in the 2022 Palmer Cup.
