F-17: Winner of 2024 NCAA Division I men's individual championship

The 22-year-old Georgia Tech sophomore held off a number of notable players to win the 2024 NCAA Division I title on the North Course at the Omni La Costa Resort in Carlsbad, Calif., by one stroke. The native of Singapore posted a 72-hole of 3-under-par 285, besting a group of golfers that included 2022 champion Gordon Sargent and 2023 Phil Mickelson Award winner Ben James. Tai spent 22 months doing mandatory military service in the Singapore Navy before arriving at Georgia Tech. As a freshman, he won a pair of collegiate titles in 2022, including the Maui Jim in Hawaii, becoming the fifth Yellow Jacket to post two or more wins in his freshman season. He also represented Singapore in the 2022 and 2023 World Amateur Team Championships in France and the United Arab Emirates, respectively.
