Calkins will make his second U.S. Open start after garnering the second and final spot from the Walla Walla, Wash., final qualifier. Calkins posted a 36-hole total of 7-under 137. Calkins owns seven victories on the Dakotas Tour, and was that circuit's player of the year in 2018, 2019 and 2020. He also played on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2023. Calkins was an outstanding high school pitcher in the state of Washington, posting a 7-0 record with 48 strikeouts in 53 innings. He played golf for one season at the College of Spokane before deciding to turn professional at 19.
