The native Northern Californian who played collegiately at San Jose State will make his U.S. Open debut after earning one of the seven spots at the Canada final qualifier near Toronto. Velo turned professional in 2020 and has climbed the ranks from PGA Tour Canada and PGA Tour Latinoamerica to the Korn Ferry Tour and now the PGA Tour. His best finish in 2025 came in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans with partner and past USA Walker Cupper Isaiah Salinda, where they tied for eighth. Enjoyed success on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2024, which included a playoff victory in the Astara Golf Championship presented by MasterCard. He also posted a pair of fourth-place ties to finish 15th on the points list to earn his PGA Tour for the 2025 season. Growing in Danville, Calif., Velo also played four years of soccer at Monte Vista High. Off the course, Velo is involved with the Special Olympics. Says his favorite golf moment came attending the 2010 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach. At San Jose State, Velo led the Spartans in scoring all four seasons.
