The former Southern Methodist University standout will play in his first U.S. Open after shooting 11-under 133 at Old Chatham Club. Meissner turned pro in 2021 not long after representing the USA in the Walker Cup Match at Seminole Golf Club as an alternate. His lone win as a professional came in the 2021 Bolingbrook Golf Club Invitational on PGA Tour Canada. He also lost in a playoff in the 2023 Panama Championship on the Korn Ferry Tour. His older brother Mitchell played at Rice University and posted a win on PGA Tour Canada. His uncle, Todd Haney, played baseball for the University of Texas and later five big-league seasons with the Montreal Expos, Chicago Cubs and New York Mets. At SMU, he won the 2019 American Athletic Conference individual title.
