F-4: Winner of 2023 U.S. Amateur Championship
Dunlap will compete in his third U.S. Open -- and first as a professional -- after joining Tiger Woods as the only players to have won the U.S. Junior Amateur and U.S. Amateur. The Alabama native won the U.S. Junior in 2021 at The Country Club of North Carolina and followed up two years later by defeating Neal Shipley in the 36-hole final of the U.S. Amateur at Cherry Hills Country Club. Five months later, Dunlap, playing on a sponsor's exemption, became the first amateur in 33 years to win a PGA Tour event when he claimed the American Express Championship at PGA West in La Quinta, Calif. A week later, he accepted PGA Tour membership and left the University of Alabama after just 1.5 years on campus. In Dunlap's freshman season at Alabama, he posted one victory (Linger Longer Invitational) and registered a 70.35 stroke average (12 tournaments). Dunlap won the 2023 North & South Amateur at Pinehurst No. 2, along with the 2023 Northeast Amateur. Prior to enrolling at Alabama, Dunlap won the 2021 AJGA Polo Invitational, the only match-play event on the circuit. He also was the runner-up in the 2021 PGA Junior Championship, and he is a past age-division runner-up in the NFL's Punt, Pass and Kick competition. He represented the USA on the victorious 2023 Walker Cup Team at St. Andrews and helped the World Amateur Team to the Eisenhower Trophy a month later in the United Arab Emirates.
