The left-hander from England will make his second consecutive U.S. Open start after carding 8-under-par 136 to garner one of the eight spots at the Walton Heath Golf Club final qualifier. Bairstow's lone professional win to date is the 2023 Farmfoods Scottish Challenge on the European Challenge Tour. Bairstow qualified for a pair of Open Championships as an amateur in 2021 and 2022. In 2022, he advanced to the championship match of the Amateur Championship at Royal Lytham & St. Annes, falling in the final to South African teen Aldrich Poltgieter, 3 and 2. That same year, Bairstow represented England in the 2022 World Amateur Team Championship in France. He also represented Great Britain & Ireland in the 2022 St. Andrews Trophy. He turned pro in the fall of 2022.
