F-20: Winner of the 2024 Latin America Amateur Championship

The University of Houston senior will play in his first U.S. Open thanks to his victory in the 2024 Latin America Amateur Championship held in Panama in January. De la Fuente edged countryman and 2023 U.S. Open qualifier Omar Morales by two strokes with a final-round 64 for a 72-hole total of 10-under 270.  He was the second player from Mexico (Alvaro Ortiz) to win the LAAC. That victory also earned him an invitation to this year's Masters Tournament, where he missed the 36-hole cut and The Open Championship in July at Royal Troon. De la Fuente also earned low-amateur honors in the Mexico Open in February. De la Fuente earned All-America honors as a junior at Houston. Last year, he was a member of the International side in the Palmer Cup, and he has represented Mexico in the last two World Amateur Team Championships (2022, 2023).
