The Duke University freshman earned his first U.S. Open start by capturing the 2023 U.S. Junior Amateur Championship at Daniel Island Club in Charleston, S.C. Kim, who defeated Joshua Bai, of New Zealand, 2 up, in the 36-hole championship match, became the second Duke golfer to claim this prestigious title, joining Jason Widener. The Maryland native won his state's junior title in 2019 and 2021, and was named a Rolex American Junior Golf Association All-American in 2021 and 2022.
