The University of Arizona rising senior from Rocklin, Calif., survived both stages of qualifying to play in his first U.S. Open. He was the medalist in his local qualifier at Tucson C.C., shooting a 65, and then he earned one of the four available berths at Valencia C.C. Pollo advanced to the Round of 32 of the 2024 U.S. Amateur at Hazeltine National G.C. He also played in the 2022 U.S. Junior Amateur at Bandon Dunes, reaching the Round of 32. Was the co-medalist in the 2023 Arizona National Invitational Tournament, becoming the first Arizona freshman to win a title since 2001 U.S. Junior Amateur champion Henry Liaw in 2004. He also captured the 2023 California Amateur. He finished his junior season at Arizona with a 70.17 scoring average.
