The 119th U.S. Open will be Scott's 73rd consecutive start in a major, but that streak was in jeopardy last June when the affable Australian needed to survive sectional qualifying in Columbus, Ohio, to earn his place in the field at Shinnecock Hills. In 2013, he became the first Australian to win the Masters after defeating 2007 U.S. Open champion Angel Cabrera in a playoff. Scott, who briefly attended the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, has been a global traveler since turning pro in 2000, with 29 worldwide wins, including 13 on the PGA Tour. He won the PGA Tour's Honda Classic and World Golf Championships-Cadillac Championship in consecutive weeks in March 2016. Scott shot a final-round 64 in the 2015 U.S. Open at Chambers Bay to post his best career finish in the championship, tying for fourth. Has been a member of eight International Presidents Cup teams.
