The great-nephew of 1968 Masters champion Bob Goalby and son of nine-time PGA Tour winner Jay Haas earned his 10th U.S. Open start by tying for fifth last year at Erin Hills. Haas has won six times on the PGA Tour, the last coming in the 2015 Humana Challenge. He captured the 2011 FedEx Cup title by winning a three-hole playoff over Hunter Mahan in the Tour Championship. Haas represented the USA in the Walker Cup Match like father Jay and uncle Jerry, competing in 2003 at Ganton Golf Club in England. He was also a member of the 2011, 2013 and 2015 USA Presidents Cup Teams, playing for his father in the latter.
