This affable player from Southport, England with the flowing locks finished one-stroke behind champion Brooks Koepka in the 2018 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills after carding a 7-under 63 in the final round. This came after he finished fourth in 2017 at Erin Hills in just his second U.S. Open start. Fleetwood turned professional in 2010 following a distinguished amateur career that included winning the 2010 English Amateur and representing Great Britain and Ireland in the 2009 Walker Cup Match at Merion Golf Club. The Englishman has since produced five victories on the European Tour, the last coming in the 2019 Nedbank Challenge. In the 2018 Ryder Cup, he posted a perfect 4-0 mark with partner Francesco Molinari, becoming the first pairing to win all four matches (foursomes and four-ball).
