Final Qualifying: Shot 69-65--134 at Bent Tree Country Club, in Dallas, Texas, on May 19
The University of Tennessee redshirt junior from Knoxville, Tenn., will make his U.S. Open debut after posting 8-under 134 at the Dallas qualifier. Simpson was exempt from local qualifying due to his position within the top 50 of the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He posted a 73.46 stroke average this past season with three top-10s. In 2020, he won the Tennessee Junior PGA Championship by eight strokes. He finished third in the 2024 Southern Amateur, and third in the 2023 Monroe Invitational. He also reached the final 16 of the 2023 North & South Amateur at Pinehurst.
