Final Qualifying: Shot 68-66--134 at Bent Tree Country Club, in Dallas, Texas, on May 19
The Ole Miss junior from Dickson, Tenn., will make his U.S. Open debut after posting 8-under 134 in the Dallas qualifier. Tankersley was exempt from local qualifying due to being among the top 50 in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He posted a 71.12 stroke average during his junior season in 2024-25, with a pair of top-five finishes. He won the 2025 Patriot All-American Invitational and was the runner-up in the 2024 Visit Knoxvill Collegiate. He competed in the 2024 U.S. Amateur at Hazeltine National and was third in the Northeast Invitational. He also was the runner-up in the 2024 Tennessee State Amateur.
