The Topeka, Kan., native will make his U.S. Open debut after posting 3-under 141 to earn one of the four available spots at Woodmont Country Club (North Course) in Rockville, Md. Hails from the same hometown as 2019 U.S. Open champion Gary Woodland and played for Washburn University, the same school where Woodland spent one season as a member of the men's basketball team before transferring to Kansas. Beckler was the runner-up in the NCAA Division II Championships, and was named the Jack Nicklaus Division II Player of the Year for the 2020-21 season. Beckler owns several Washburn school records, including career scoring average (72.00). Turned professional after graduating in 2021. Beckler started his college career at Kansas State.
