The 2023 Northwestern graduate announced that he will be making his professional debut at The Los Angeles Country Club after surviving a 4-for-3 playoff for the final spots in Columbus, Ohio. Nyfjall also advanced out of local qualifying with a 68 at Stonewall Orchard Golf Club in Grayslake, Ill. He posted 8-under 136 in final qualifying. Prior to enrolling at Northwestern, Nyfjall was a semifinalist in the 2016 Boys Amateur Championship conducted by The R&A. Nyfjall was the No. 64 seed in the 2021 U.S. Amateur at Oakmont Country Club and upset the medalist, 1 up, in the Round of 64 before falling in 21 holes to 2021 USA Walker Cupper Ricky Castillo.
