F-5: Winner of 2024 U.S. Mid-Amateur

Beck finally broke through to win his first USGA title with a 9-and-8 victory over Bobby Massa in the 36-hole championship match of the 43rd U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship at Kinloch Golf Club in his home state of Virginia. The Virginia Beach native nearly became the first player in USGA history to lose a title match by a 10-and-8 margin (2008 U.S. Junior Amateur at Shoal Creek to Cameron Peck) and win a final by the same margin. Beck also had lost the 2023 U.S. Mid-Amateur final at Sleepy Hollow Country Club to Stewart Hagestad. Beck played his college golf at Wake Forest and briefly turned pro after graduating in 2013, but injuries shortened that stint and he regained his amateur status in 2019. He has played in multiple U.S. Amateur Four-Ball Championships with Dan Walters, who was his assistant coach at Wake. The two advanced to the semifinals in 2022 at the Country Club of Birmingham. Beck is a portfolio manager for a company in the Washington, D.C. area. Since returning to the amateur ranks, Beck has been one of the country's top mid-amateurs, having won the 2021 Virginia State Open. In 2024, he won the George Coleman Invitational at Seminole and the George Thomas Invitational at The Los Angeles Country Club, along with being one of 16 invitees to a December Walker Cup practice session in Florida.
