Fans will utilize a temporary train platform constructed at Stony Brook Southampton, adjacent to the championship grounds. In conjunction with the New York State Dept. of Transportation, Suffolk County, the Town of Southampton, and the U.S. Open public safety team, the USGA’s goal is to limit the impact on residences, businesses, and area commuters as much as possible by implementing a comprehensive traffic management plan. It is anticipated the U.S. Open Championship will bring heavy congestion to the local area surrounding Shinnecock Hills Monday through Sunday, June 15-21, including NY-27 (Sunrise Highway), County Road 39 (CR-39), and Montauk Highway.
